Be an original: Conjure up that inner chic chick!

Have you ever seen someone who puts things together that you never dreamed of? Doesn't it make you want to explore your own fashion sense a little more? How do you think celebrities become fashion icons? Originality and the gall to pull it off, that's how! Yeah, maybe Lady Gaga is a bit left field with her style, but she totally owns it and I can respect that. You don't have to replicate her flair for fashion; as a matter of fact, I am opposed to that. But you can, however, become an icon in your own right. I'm going to stick to what your parents told you for years and say, "Just be yourself!" Yes, it's that simple. Wear what you feel comfortable in, make a statement and have the confidence to pull
it off.

Everyone is not on your side
At the end of the day, you are who you are and your style should reflect that. The process should be effortless. If you find yourself over analyzing every little thing, you are only trying to win the approval of others. Who cares what people think? Understand this: If you display confidence and are happy with the skin you're in, there will always be haters. It comes with the territory. Embrace it and know that you're ultimately staying true to who you are.

Don't wait for the compliments to come pouring in
Yes, it's sad to say, but you're taking a chance being yourself. Some may hate the ensemble you put together-others may not know what to make of it. Self confidence is the key here, so if you don't get those, "I love what you're wearing" comments you were hoping for, don't lose sleep over it. Risks are a part of being fashionable and stepping out with a little fashion faith is necessary sometimes.

On the other hand, don't be surprise if others love your style
Be prepared for some serious "swagger jacking." Trust me, it happens all the time. Just take it as a compliment! There's nothing wrong with looking for style inspiration from your favorite celebs or even friends, but don't totally steal someone's look. Remember, it's all about being original and there is only one you.

Fashion and confidence go hand in hand. Don't be afraid to open up and let the world see that risk-taking, unique, unapologetic fashionista you truly are!
